Your music forever changed me as a person and citizen. I come from a town of ultra-conservatives, having had their dogma shoved down my throat since Day 1, and you guys (mainly Zack the lyricist, really) made me see the light. We gotta take the power back and not let these criminal politicians and corporate power whores rule us any longer!

Rage Against the Machine, the most important reunion yet. It's about time you guys went down and played in Dubai, with an audience that ranges from Palestinians to Irish to Pakistanis to Americans to Filipinos to South Africans(and many more), it's a whole mix of cultures who you can wake up and unite. As for now, the reunion shows were the baddest and loudest shows of the summer.

I remember the first time i ever herd your voice i got goose bumps, the i listened to your words and I got scared, Then I paid attention and I became aware. The sands of time have passed through the hands of many, and yet the struggle for freedom is still very prevalent in all walks of life. I am with you, till the end; as this land is the birth place of endless problems and thus we must confront the enemy on all lines and in all possible facets. Continue with your course of action as your words speak to countless masses. Soon they will all understand that freedom and equality are simply forcefed lies that we have been lead to believe. You are a light in the dark, the beacon of hope that guides us. We thank you for you action against inequality and strife. Viva Equalidad!

Hey Zack, starting a band in 2 years,
its going to be politically charged like rage, let me just say, that rage has inspired me more than anything, just as much as the bible. Every time I feel like shit I put a rage song on and hold my fist in the air. I'm only 14 what do I know, I am interested in world events, and when I change high school I'll take my beliefs like rage did, and stand up for them, your the only band to stand up and shout your words, and not sell out by endorsing big companies .

Hello, Zack, and the rest of the band. I'm Carlos Velozo, from Chile, Neruda's land. I started listening to RATM when I was 15, about 12 years ago, and I've always felt identified with your attitude towards the system, your non-commertial style, your commitment to truth and your way of being truthful on any stage. I mean, you didn't come to please the audience, but to slap their faces to wake them (us) up, didn't you? and if we like it, that's fine, if we don't, that's fine as well... you ain't selling shit here, are you?
Well, I just wanted to say that RATM is the only band I trust, know what I mean? and that's because you are who you are.

I'm glad you're back

Big respect and love from Serbia!

p.s.(you should have come here after Slovenia in 2000. I was in Slovenia together with my band mates, but my visa was at it's end and I hadn't managed to see you there, so I had to come back hoping that I would see you soon, but after that everything was over... Until now! Now you should ...HAVE TO!...come to Serbia. We really need you here.

Until 2000 lot of thing happened, I finished my psychology studies, got married, started working as a psychologist in a high school, BUT YOU ARE STILL MY FAVORITE BAND, AND YOU ARE STILL MY FAVORITE VOICE/VOCAL, but of course after my wife - no hard feelings :)

I wouldn't mind if you put me on your backstage guest list ;)

So:

Zack,
is it you in the "Guerrilla Radio" video in the right/up corner on the beginning of the video sewing on a machine, just as other "actors"???

Please let me know!

And if I am right...I definitely deserve to be on your VIP list (I'll pay the ticket for my wife) ;)

Best wishes!!

It is so good to see you guys back at it. I have been a fan for many years and even when it seemed to be over I still stuck with the thought someday RAGE would continue what was meant to be to help free the minds of those in need. I am a bigger fan then I was back then. I truly understand the truth you guys have been pushing out since day one. I was a teen when I first heard RATM. I am now 27 and no other group/individuals has ever moved me or made me sit back, think and see the turth. I like many was lost or just enjoying the music but since those days I have truly listened and took time to understand your movement. Much love to you all. Raise your fist & resist.

Ciao,

Zack, you're the biggest influence on the shaping of my ego that I've ever come across. You're lyrics got me interested in the world; you encouraged me to educate myself and see beyond dogma and the doctrines of conservativism. I am now a young anarchist who's a junior in high school, and because of my ideas I have been probed by the San Antonio police department. I thought domestic spying was reserved for terrorism, so apparently me, a young, white, rebellious anarchist, have become a terrorist.

I mention this as an example of what ideas can get us in to, though your conflict with authority goes far beyond mine. But like you said to those fascist motherfuckers at Fox, we will not stand down from these positions. We refuse to be silent, and we refused to lower our fists.

Thank you Zack. Take the power back.

P.S. If you somehow got back to me, that would mean more than you know. My email's calmlikabomb2691@netscape.net

Peace.

COME BACK BACK BACK! Brasilian fans are waiting for a concert for a loooonnng time! Our reality is much similar to that you talk about in the songs of RATM, Brazil is a real brother country to Mexico, a country with much more potenciality than whats it is achieving at the time.

And plus, your music is one of the best. Are you ready to be a rock legend like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd,The Clash? That's what RATM will be in the future, a legend, side by side whit Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Radiohead, Blur, Oasis.

So, you return is very waited. FAN MOMENT: WE LOVE YOU RATM! HEHE.

Hey Zack! Just want to say that when I discovered Rage Against The Machine, and specially your lyrics, my thoughts on the world have changed drastically. I can´t stand seeing human rights being constantly put aside in most situations nowadays, and those suckers in the USA are encouraging that. They are the anarchists, not us! Thank you for existing and for spreading the message of freedom and revolution, without you the world would be a hopeless place. Hasta la victoria! Together we stand!

i'd love to see you playing in one of those "liberated" countries enjoying economic reforms, democracy and free market and of course endless economic growth.

btw i'm not anarchist, fascist or whatever... i think that ratm lyrics make perfect sense and their opinions are backed with relevant information, i don't like wild stupid parties who see the point of this music in f*cking, destruction and opposition to everything and everybody no matter what.
it's clean and clear that this world needs serious turn, revolution and wake up kick but it cannot be done the simple way, learn from history. use words where you need to use words and use your arms and legs to kick somebody to his ass when you need to...

RATM THANK YOU!! so much for coming to New Zealand. I'm totally sad that its only one show and only at Big Day Out the worst concert/festival to be held in NZ, however i am willing to put up with an entire day out in the sunshine with drunk idiots just to see you guys after 11 years. last time ratm was here was in 1996, i was 15years old and it the best concert ever!! (in 1996 only one concert at BDO again! why not more shows???!!!). RATM has inspired me in such a way that i can't even explain. thank you for your words Zack and i'm so happy that this reunion has taken place...(i hate Audioslave, but Tom i like your one man revolution cd!) i've been counting down from 4 months, its now 4 days to go to the concert and i can't wait!!! i'm the girl in the rage shirts stalking every hotel in auckland at the moment, if its meant to be i'd love to meet RATM even for just 1 minute! (not sure what i'd say though besides 'your guys are awesome', 'marry me' and 'i love you' and lots of drooling..obviously..) but knowing my luck since i am a massive fan of ratm chances are i'll never get to meet them :( and i'll be the skinny brown skinned girl who gets to watch the concert of her favorite band all the way from the back, while other white drunk male idiots who don't even know who RATM are will take up all the space shoving us poor females right at the back.. :( alas, i am still excited RATM are coming!!

anyone else in auckland going to BDO? i'd love to meet fellow ratm fans

Thank you so much for being back. I've never been to a RATM concert and I want to so badly. Sadly, I heard you won't show up at Roskilde Festival in Denmark this summer because one of you is having a kid or something.. Which, of course, is a blessing and I can't congratulate the lucky one enough.. I just wondered, 'cause you're scheduled to play at Optimus Alive in Portugal, only four days after Roskilde? I still have hope you might show up.. But, I'm a patient girl and I can wait.. that is if I choose not to go to one of the other festivals to see you guys!
Love your lyrics, your music and your spirits. You can be nothing but a true inspiration and rolemodel for all kinds of people, you rock!

Zack, I saw the speech you gave to your crowd in Auckland, New Zealand on "Youtube". It (the speech) was dead-on fantastic. I have also seen your 2-part interview with Noam Chomsky, in which the questions you asked him were there too dead-on fantastic. However, I personally believe Noam Chomsky is a bit too pacifistic/ "gradualistic" (if that's not a word I just coined it). I think we can overthrow the evil corporations/ politicians with violent gun-power/mass-scale theft. I said this in an earlier post, but the only problem would be logistics-when, where, how, who etc. A fantastic master-plan would be for a significantly HUGE group of armed AMERICAN guerrilla fighters (possibly fans of you) to infiltrate and take capture of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. and possibly the White House as well...Then once we had COMPLETE control of both these buildings we could begin to read through highly-classified documents...This may seem a bit grandiose/far-fetched but theoretically if we ignore Chomsky's overly "gradualistic" ideas this "master-plan", with enough, and I mean HUGE numbers, of heavily-armed American citizens, physically bashing their way through heavily-armed security into the Capitol building and White House in Washington D.C. could be well...let's me just say...quite realistic in fact...at least I think...Call me a fanatic but I believe this "master-plan", if STRONG enough, could work...

I believe in a lot of what Zach has to say. However some of you are idiots. Yes capitalism has its drawbacks i.e. GREED. But the reason we even have the internet that losers like myself can post on is because of it. I am not a fan of Marxism Leninism or any ism's. I think its all crap including capitalism. To make a black and white issue out of something that is actually different shades of grey says not hey look at me I'm a rebel, but look at me I am an absolutionist with monochromatic views of the world. The same type of person I am trying to revolt against. Frederick Douglas said without struggle there is no progress. This is true however you must sometimes play the roll of Henry Clay to effect change in Government. Both are right and both are inevitably wrong. In 2008 lets vote to not change the sex or color of the presidents skin because that has nothing to do whith the state of the union. It only perpetuates racism and sexism to bring that to the front ground. The truth of the matter is when you are looking for a real candidate look at which ones do not accept money from PAC (Political Action Comities a.k.a Lobbyists). This is how you fight the GREED of capitalism. Besides to demonize someone for making a profit is absurd. Profits are what keep your lights on and keep us employed.

Me causou grande tristeza ver a sua ruína e a substituição por algo tão inofensivo como o AUDIOSLAVE. I understand that all the people around the world are totally getting crazy at the annoucemet of this reunion. U give hope to lot of persons , and i really thought that we need u back ... but not in that way ... When rage broke of course i felt something strange but you continued your purpose, with more discretion ... i thought " yes this guy got the right thing , he's free ! " ...free from pressure, free from major, free from this horrible music system ... He's going to get more strenght from this situation and more credibility. And then you're back ... with a world tour !! Still working with a major, without giving any chances to the one who have other things to do than surfing on the net for hours to see if RATM is giving a show somewhere ( because in France all the tickets were sold in 4 hours ... bought for most by guys who make you pay 190 euros the ticket !! a shame ! ) ... i don't understand ... I'd like to ... Hope your new dream will give you satisfaction and all that you hope ... but me, I stop following this , i can't . I've never been a fan, a fanatic, just someone who found in you a real Human being that had the courage to brake with celebrity and found another way of telling his rage. Even if the first albums were a real revolution ... i prefer saying goodbye ... I keep in my heart and my soul this image of U as the singer and the guide that U have been one day ... and close my eyes now.
Please take care and be carefull on the way U are taking now...still believe U are precious.

And people enjoy the shows.

you guys are my idols, and my saviors in this country of contradiction and fascism.

You guys are needed in the music scene in a very bad way. I grew up listening to you guys and you guys were very influential in the way your music made me want to look into things for myself. Because of you guys I try to look at the bigger picture not just in politics or or globalization and some of the other topics you present in your music but in everything. I try to understand the other side of the coin in my dealings with everyone my friends family favorite athletes musicians and so on. I try to make my decision's in life based on information that I have acquired for my self, and not base my life on what others have told me including you. Anyway the reason you guys are needed is because you guys have a large platform to deliver thought provocking music. All of the main stream music is crap it's mindless shit it's dumbing us down in rapid numbers. I am aware there are a lot of artist out there who have thought provocking music but the media has conveniently ignored these artist, artist such as Mos Def, Talieb, Krs One and others
You guys on the other hand are so big the media couldn't ignore you. You have a huge following and could bridge a gap between generation's by making younger folks aware of political issues that they wont see on fox news your music can encourage them to seek out information for themselves as you did for me and people of my generation. Anyway thank you for making music and touring the way you do I can only imagine how much sacrifice is involved with your life style. To sum it up I guess Im just saying keep pushing forward as artist because the world need's you guys thanks.

Zack... I just stumbled upon a great b&w clip of you singing a traditional Mexican song at your aunt's home (tia means aunt, no?). I wouldn't normally attempt to correspond with a celebrity, but I can't sit here and not tell you that you sing beautifully. Your passion for the music is evident and your speaking voice is so soft and warm. Thanks for allowing us to see another side of you.

And thank you for returning to Rage. Your lyrics have opened my eyes. When I listen to RATM, I feel compelled to educate myself and DO something about the world we live in.

I am a product of RATM, literally… I have been listening to you guys and other groups like KRS-ONE, and Dead Prez (maybe a little too much) for many years. I have just finished my coursework for my B.A. in politics and will continue my studies and in a year or so will receive my degree in Music Industry Studies. I also plan to begin Master's studies in Politics after I'm done with music. My master plan is to become active in politics but gain popularity through music.

Anyway, I was wondering about your solo work. I really like that C.I.A. song you did with the Last Emperor and KRS-ONE and want to hear more of your solo shit. Is there any other albums you have released (besides Inside Out)?

Then last month, I was studying abroad in Europe and was able to catch you play Pinkpop in Landgraaf, Holland. Anyway, I just got a job working Lollapalooza and will see you guys next month. I was hoping that you can do me a favor and add “No Shelter” to that night’s set. It is my favorite Rage song, and I’m even working on a cover of that song on the piano, but it is a little hard trying to rhyme like you and play the piano at the same time.

Rage Against The Machine in Denver for DNC 2008?

Denver police are stocking up on guns that fire a pepper spray-like substance instead of bullets - a less-lethal weapon used to disperse crowds - in advance of the Democratic National Convention.

The department recently ordered 88 Mark IV launchers and projectiles at a cost "in the low six figures," the company that makes the weapons stated in a news release Monday.

The request was for delivery in advance of the DNC, according to Louisville- based Security With Advanced Technology Inc.

The convention, scheduled for Aug. 25 to 28 at the Pepsi Center, is expected to draw thousands of protesters to sites throughout Denver.

The city received a $50 million federal grant for security. A senior adviser to Mayor John Hickenlooper has said the city plans to spend up to half that amount on equipment, with the rest going to pay officers.

But the city has refused to disclose how it is spending the money, prompting the American Civil Liberties Union last month to file a civil lawsuit.

The court filing alleges the city is violating the Colorado Open Records Act.

City officials say releasing the information is "contrary to the public interest" because it could disclose important tactical information, potentially jeopardizing security.

A city spokesperson could not be reached for comment Monday. Meanwhile, speculation about what the city is buying has run rampant.

Some organizers of protest groups believe police are buying extended-range Tasers and weapons that incapacitate people with high-intensity sound.

The Mark IV weapons the city ordered recently fire plastic balls filled with powder that's "like a combination of cayenne pepper and baby powder," the manufacturer said.

It can be fired from up to 100 feet away, said Ben Cook, director of Veritas, a subsidiary of Security With Advanced Technology.

The balls burst open on impact. While the powder will incapacitate a person like pepper spray, it doesn't cause some of the more severe reactions, Cook said

I am bubbling over with enthusiasm after reading the recent news stories and watching the YouTube videos. Somehow, I knew that RAGE would set the stage in the fight against passivity and stand up against tyranny at the place where it all stems from: The RNC.

What this group has accomplished is substantial and the movement continues to grow. The first time I ever had an inkling that all was not right came to me through the lyrics of Bombtrack. What began as a slow process of wondering gave birth to a fierce passion for research through anthropology, sociology and U.S. History classes. RAGE led me to the prolific Noam Chomsky, David Barsamian and Free Speech Radio News and much, much more. RAGE has led me to seek the TRUTH. I am forever grateful and am so proud to hear them getting the message out to the people.

I went to college and studied music because of I heard "Bulls on Parade" on the radio. I immediately had to know how the solo was done and down the rabbit hole I went. Now I am proud to say that I have very strong beliefs about what my duties are as a citizen of this country, a member of my local community, and as a privileged college graduate. Having an LA band made up of positive role models with different ethnic backgrounds on MTV (of all places) made a huge impact on how I viewed society.
